Happy World Ocean’s Day …or is it?

I think every day is ocean’s day here in Newfoundland. So much of our lives are ruled by the sea even if you don’t actually work on the ocean. The fisheries, of course, the offshore oil industry, tourism, weather, recreation, technology and even the ferry to get off the island are at the mercy of a moody and unpredictable ocean.

I have spent much of my life working, playing and traveling on the ocean. People that do see the changes. …and its not good.

Here is a piece I just completed for The Gammy Bird – World Oceans day 2025
